Bugatti is embarking on a new chapter in its 115-year history with the development of an entirely new platform for the next generation of hyper sports cars.
Following in the footsteps of the Veyron and Chiron, the newly introduced Tourbillon represents Bugatti’s latest achievement, combining cutting-edge technology with breathtaking design.
Emilio Scervo, CTO of Bugatti Rimac, highlights how the team approached the creation of the Tourbillon by rethinking every aspect of the car to surpass the already iconic Chiron. The result is a machine that pushes the boundaries of automotive performance and design, merging beauty, aerodynamics, and an elevated driving experience.

The powertrain is a major innovation, featuring a naturally aspirated V16 engine paired with three electric motors, delivering an extraordinary combination of power and precision.
The unique platform integrates this advanced powertrain and other components seamlessly, with optimal placement of the radiators and electric axle to enhance both performance and efficiency. The vehicle’s electric motors enable full four-wheel drive, incorporating torque vectoring to provide improved handling and stability.
At its core, the Tourbillon features a T-shaped 24kWh battery that produces 800 HP of electric power and supports up to 60 km of electric-only range.
The centrally positioned battery not only contributes to a perfect center of gravity but also serves as a structural element of the car, allowing for a fixed seating position and a movable pedal box and steering wheel to optimize both weight and height.
In the rear, the V16 engine, combined with an additional electric motor, is placed closer to the driver for better weight distribution and interior space. Bugatti’s engineers have made groundbreaking decisions, like moving fuel tanks to the sides and incorporating a rear diffuser into the crash structure, further reducing weight.
Bugatti’s Tourbillon is more than just a hypercar—it’s a signal of the brand’s commitment to innovation and excellence. The new platform sets the stage for future models, symbolizing a fusion of visionary engineering and holistic design, as Scervo explains: the car feels like the work of a single hand, despite many contributors.
This cohesive approach ensures that the Tourbillon is truly one-of-a-kind, cementing Bugatti’s place at the forefront of luxury performance.
