Hyundai Motor Company has achieved a significant milestone, producing 100 million vehicles globally in just 57 years since its founding.

This places Hyundai among the fastest-growing automotive manufacturers in the world. To commemorate this achievement, a ceremony was held at the company’s Ulsan Plant in Korea, where Hyundai marked the production of its 100 millionth and first vehicle, an IONIQ 5, by handing it directly to a customer.

“Reaching global cumulative production of 100 million vehicles is a meaningful milestone that was possible thanks to our customers around the world,” said Jaehoon Chang, President and CEO of Hyundai Motor.

“Taking on bold challenges and constantly pursuing innovation has enabled us to grow rapidly and will empower us to reach another 100 million units as a mobility game changer.”

Hyundai’s Ulsan Plant, which opened in 1968, has played a central role in the company’s history, including producing Korea’s first mass-produced model, the Pony, in 1975. The plant is now focused on electrification, with Hyundai establishing a dedicated electric vehicle (EV) facility at the site.

This achievement highlights Hyundai’s rapid global expansion, fueled by brands such as Genesis, the N performance line, and its growing portfolio of electric vehicles like the IONIQ 5.

As Hyundai looks to the future, the company remains committed to leading in the era of electrification and advancing its technological capabilities through smart factories and AI-driven production platforms.
