Audi has taken a significant leap in electric mobility with the launch of its first fully electric RS performance model, the Audi RS e-tron GT performance².
This four-door coupé blends cutting-edge technology with meticulous attention to detail, offering a powerful, sporty, and confident driving experience that embodies Audi’s commitment to excellence in automotive engineering.

At the heart of this electric Gran Turismo are its two advanced permanent-magnet synchronous motors (PSM). The front axle is powered by a motor that generates 252 kW (342 PS), while the rear axle houses a newly developed PSM delivering 415 kW (564 PS).
The enhanced design of the rear motor, which includes a lighter rotor and a higher copper density in the stator’s winding, reduces the motor’s weight by 10 kilograms, boosting overall efficiency.
For those seeking maximum performance, Launch Control unleashes up to 680 kW (925 PS), thanks to power reserves drawn from the high-voltage battery and electric motors, offering a thrilling burst of speed.
Audi has also re-engineered the power electronics on both axles. The front axle now features a revised pulse inverter that allows for discharge currents of up to 600 amps—double that of the Audi S e-tron GT and RS e-tron GT variants.
The rear axle operates at the same 600 amps, contributing to the vehicle’s superior braking and recuperation capabilities. The braking recuperation system now captures up to 400 kW, with increased coasting recuperation values for smoother and more efficient driving.
Thermal management plays a crucial role in maintaining consistent performance. The RS performance mode, exclusive to this model, utilizes a sophisticated thermal management system with four interconnected coolant circuits.
This system ensures optimal cooling of the battery and electric motors during high-performance driving while also maintaining cabin comfort. The cooling system is further enhanced by a new U-Flow cooling plate design, ensuring even temperature distribution across the battery cells.
Audi has also optimized the battery’s cell chemistry, adjusting the nickel, cobalt, and manganese ratio for improved energy capacity. The 105 kWh gross battery (97 kWh net) not only supports longer driving ranges but also increases charging efficiency, allowing the battery to charge from 10% to 80% in just 18 minutes at a high-power charging station.
Additionally, a push-to-pass function provides an extra 70 kW of power at speeds over 30 km/h for up to ten seconds, giving drivers a significant performance boost when needed.
The driving experience is further refined with Audi’s advanced air suspension system, featuring 2-chamber/2-valve technology for optimal handling without sacrificing comfort.
The Audi drive select system lets drivers customize their driving preferences, offering efficiency, comfort, and dynamic modes alongside two RS-specific profiles—RS1 and RS2. These modes allow for fine-tuned control over suspension, ride height, and even sound settings, ensuring the perfect balance of comfort and performance.
For those seeking a sportier ride, the RS e-tron GT performance² offers high-performance tires on optional 21-inch wheels. These Bridgestone Potenza Sport tires, made from 55% renewable or recycled materials, are designed for maximum grip and efficiency, ensuring excellent handling on both dry and wet surfaces.
Meanwhile, a range of 20-inch wheels with optimized rolling resistance is available for those prioritizing everyday use and longer driving ranges.
The design of the RS e-tron GT performance² is both bold and functional, with optional matte carbon camouflage elements adding a unique aesthetic. These carbon inlays are available in various parts of the car, including the roof, bumper, and side mirrors.
The new Bedford Green exterior finish, paired with a Serpentine Green-stitched interior, offers a striking yet elegant visual package. Inside, the RS e-tron GT performance² also features 18-way adjustable seats and a white power meter and speedometer, a nod to the 1994 Audi Avant RS 2.
Audi’s engineers have redefined the e-tron Sport sound for this model, enhancing the auditory experience both inside and outside the cabin. The sound system is meticulously tuned to respond to various driving conditions, offering a progressive, high-quality sound that underscores the car’s Gran Turismo character.
Production of the RS e-tron GT performance² takes place at Audi’s Böllinger Höfe facility, where precision craftsmanship meets cutting-edge technology. Small-series production allows for detailed, hands-on assembly, with final adjustments being made by experienced technicians to ensure the highest quality. Audi is also using this facility to test and refine digital solutions for future large-scale production models.
The Audi RS e-tron GT performance² is available to order now, starting at €160,500. It sits at the top of Audi’s electric Gran Turismo range, alongside the S e-tron GT, priced from €126,000, and the RS e-tron GT, which starts at €147,500.
