Honda’s Ohio EV Hub is transforming manufacturing by producing petrol, hybrid, and electric vehicles on the same lines, with the first Acura EV set to debut in late 2025.

Honda is advancing its EV Hub in Ohio, allowing petrol, hybrid, and electric vehicles to be produced on the same lines.

The first EV, based on the Acura Performance EV Concept, will be built at the Marysville Auto Plant in late 2025. This initiative is part of a larger effort to create more efficient and environmentally friendly manufacturing processes.

Beyond EVs Honda’s Ohio EV Hub Revolutionizes Manufacturing for the Future.

The retooling of Honda’s Ohio plants includes installing megacasting machines for large EV battery cases and preparing for the assembly of the Intelligent Power Unit, which will power the company’s future EVs.

Honda is investing $700 million to retool its Ohio facilities and $3.5 billion with LG Energy Solution for a joint venture battery plant, expected to be completed by late 2024 with a 40GWh annual capacity.

The first Acura EV will use Honda’s new EV platform and marks a key step toward the company’s goal of 100% electric and fuel cell vehicle sales by 2040.

Honda has been manufacturing in the U.S. for over 40 years, with more than two-thirds of its 2022 sales built domestically, and has invested $19 billion in its U.S. operations.
