Kia America has announced its participation in the ninth annual Rebelle Rally, marking its fifth consecutive entry in the challenging off-road competition. This year, the brand is set to showcase a customized Telluride X-Pro, featuring a unique livery designed by Jaiwon Lee, a senior graphic design student from the ArtCenter College of Design in Pasadena, California.

The collaboration between Kia and the ArtCenter College of Design reflects the automaker’s commitment to fostering emerging talent. Four student designs were submitted for the Telluride X-Pro, with Jaiwon Lee’s topographic map-inspired design winning the competition. Her design draws from the Rebelle Rally’s navigational elements and embodies Kia’s “Opposites United” philosophy, blending natural and mechanical motifs.

Tom Kearns, Chief Designer at Kia Design Center America, expressed pride in the students’ work and anticipation for the rally. The Telluride X-Pro, driven by professional rally driver Verena Mei and navigator Kendra Miller, will feature Lee’s design when it takes on the rugged terrain later this fall.

This ongoing partnership highlights Kia’s strong ties with the ArtCenter, where many of its designers have honed their skills. The Rebelle Rally continues to be a platform where innovation and creativity meet, underscoring Kia’s dedication to supporting the next generation of designers.

Further details about the Telluride X-Pro and the team’s preparations for the Rebelle Rally will be revealed in the coming months.
