BMW and MINI are expanding the capabilities of their respective apps with significant updates focused on electric mobility. Both the My BMW App and MINI App, used by 13 million customers globally, are now offering new features to help drivers transition from combustion engines to electric vehicles (EVs).

A standout addition is the Electric Vehicle Analysis function. This tool allows drivers of combustion-engine BMWs to simulate the suitability of an electric BMW based on their actual driving habits. By analyzing data from at least 200 journeys and 2,000 kilometers driven, the app shows how many of those trips could have been completed with a single charge in an electric vehicle. This feature aims to ease common concerns about EV range and practicality, providing a personalized evaluation to assist in deciding whether to switch to electric.

In addition to the Electric Vehicle Analysis, the app now supports seamless route planning between the vehicle and the app, including options for avoiding motorways, ferries, and toll roads. For all-electric vehicles, it also enables users to add and sync charging stops along their routes, complete with notifications about nearby amenities.
