Lexus is experiencing a surge in popularity in Europe, with a notable 41,251 vehicles sold from January to June 2024, marking a significant 21% increase compared to the same period in 2023. This impressive growth is largely driven by the brand’s focus on electrified vehicles, which comprise 90% of their European sales. In Western Europe, this figure is even higher, nearing 100%. During the first half of the year, Lexus sold 37,099 hybrids, plug-in hybrids, and battery electric vehicles, representing a 27% increase year-on-year.
Lexus offers a diverse lineup of crossover and SUV models, which are particularly favored by European consumers. The newly introduced LBX hybrid city crossover has quickly gained traction, selling 8,719 units in its first six months on the market, making it the second most popular Lexus model in Europe.

The Lexus NX continues to lead in popularity, with 13,341 units sold in the first half of the year, reflecting a 13% increase. Among these, 8,496 were classic hybrids, while 4,446 were the NX 450h+ plug-in hybrids, capable of traveling up to 98 kilometers on electric power alone.
Following the NX and LBX, the premium RX SUV also performed well, with 7,018 units sold. The RX lineup includes the RX 350h hybrid and the new RX 500h hybrid with a turbocharged engine and 4×4 DIRECT4 drive, which together accounted for 3,195 units sold. The RX 450h+ plug-in hybrid added another 2,176 units to the total.
The UX model, featuring a fifth-generation hybrid system with 199 horsepower, sold 5,349 units, with 4,216 of these being hybrids and 984 as the electric UX 300e, which comes with a 72.8 kWh battery. The RZ model, offered in two power variants, stands as the brand’s most popular electric car in Europe, with 2,033 units sold.
Lastly, the ES model remains Lexus’s top-selling limousine in Europe. Out of the 2,868 units sold in the first half of the year, 2,519 were hybrids, underscoring the brand’s commitment to efficient and reliable hybrid technology.
