An explorer has astonished the public by uncovering a once lively racetrack now overtaken by nature.

Chloe Urbex, 23, stumbled upon the track in Essex after discovering it online.

Originally established in 1978, the first race took place in May of that year, with the final event occurring in November 2018.

Before its closure, the venue was a beloved spot for family outings, filled with nostalgic memories for many visitors.

Unfortunately, according to local sources, Arena Essex ceased operations after 40 years.

The banger race track had endured numerous race cancellations due to inclement weather, dwindling fan support, and rising insurance costs.

Now, the area is covered in greenery, as nature has reclaimed it.

Aerial photos reveal that while the track’s outline and white lines remain visible, they appear weathered and dry.

Another image shows floodlights still standing, now enveloped in moss and shrubs, alongside vintage advertisements.

No vehicles remain on the premises, but the spectator stands and the box office show signs of gradual decay.

“This track sits abandoned just off an active go-kart site,” Chloe, an urban explorer from England, shared with Luxury Auto News. “It hasn’t been used for quite some time.”

Chloe posted her drone images on Facebook, where the post has garnered over a thousand likes.
