Despite varying weather conditions, Bugatti captivated audiences at the Goodwood Festival of Speed 2024, showcasing its future innovations and enduring motorsport legacy. The event featured the public debut of the Bugatti Tourbillon, along with exhilarating displays by the W16 Mistral and Bolide on the famed hill climb.
Over four days, the Bugatti team, including top-level management and board members, offered an extraordinary display of luxury and performance. The Tourbillon, representing mechanical precision and sophistication, made a remarkable impression at the festival. This new hyper sports car redefines the concept with an entirely new powertrain and platform, guided by Bugatti’s 115-year legacy and Ettore Bugatti’s vision.

The W16 Mistral, Bugatti’s ultimate roadster, made its dynamic debut at Goodwood. Driven by Bugatti Pilote Officiel Pierre-Henri Raphanel, the Mistral gracefully tackled the hill climb, showcasing its 1,600 PS powertrain. This exclusive model marks the end of the W16 era, offering a unique driving experience with its unparalleled power and luxury.
“To drive an open-top hyper sports car like the W16 Mistral is truly remarkable,” said Raphanel. “The noise that comes from the W16 is incomparable, and the W16 Mistral offers the best expression of that sound. It’s fantastic to see the joy on the faces of viewers and passengers as they experience this firsthand.”
The Bolide, which impressed at the 2023 Goodwood Festival of Speed, also returned to the hill climb. Driven by Bugatti Pilote Officiel Andy Wallace, the track-only hyper sports car featured a livery honoring the Type 35’s debut in Lyon in 1924. This tribute celebrated the Type 35’s centenary and connected Bugatti’s storied past with its present.
“Driving the Bolide on the revered hill climb, so close to the spectators, is a unique experience,” Wallace commented. “Honoring the Type 35’s centenary adds an extra layer of significance. The Type 35 set a standard of performance and engineering excellence that continues to define Bugatti’s legacy today.”
Away from the track, Bugatti enthusiasts enjoyed a display of automotive history and innovation, including rare examples of the iconic Bugatti Type 57. This display highlighted the brand’s rich heritage and engineering brilliance.
The Goodwood Festival of Speed, the world’s largest automotive celebration, attracts over 250,000 visitors annually.
