A rare Aston Martin DB5 – just like James Bond’s – is for sale for £1.25million.

Only 39 were ever built as left hand drive like this one.

The 1965 convertible is mostly known for its links to the iconic secret agent.

In the James Bond films 007 actors from Sean Connery to Daniel Craig can be seen cruising in the DB5.

The classic car is equipped with a 4.0 litre engine that powers the motor to an impressive top speed of 143mph.

The DB5 boasts an impressive 283 bhp and is kitted out with a five-speed ZF gearbox.

In vintage toro was priced at £4,490 when it was made, which at the time was well above the average house price, as reported by Luxury Auto News.

The magnificent motor will now head to auction held by RM Sotheby’s.

The auction will take place between 15 to 17 August in Monterey, California, US.

A Sotheby’s spokesperson said: “The most well-known DB5 is, of course, that Silver Birch super-spy saloon often seen racing across movie screens worldwide.

“With the instant international success of the model, it was only natural that Aston Martin would satisfy those customers who lived in sunnier locales and produce a drophead coupe version of the DB5.

“The DB5 Convertible was the equal of any open-top Italian gran turismo for style; and if James Bond’s DB5 was “just” a standard saloon model, one of nearly a thousand, only 123 lucky customers were able to drive away in the drophead version—making the DB5 Convertible one of the rarer Aston Martins available today.
