June 2024 Highlights:
- Vehicle Deliveries: NIO delivered 21,209 vehicles in June, marking a 98.1% year-over-year increase. In the second quarter of 2024, deliveries totaled 57,373 vehicles, up 143.9% year-over-year. From January to June 2024, NIO delivered 87,426 vehicles, a 60.2% increase year-over-year. As of June 30, 2024, cumulative deliveries reached 537,020.
- NIO Houses and Charging Infrastructure: NIO opened 2 new NIO Houses globally and 12 Power Swap Stations, alongside 29 new charging stations. The company now operates 155 NIO Houses worldwide, 2,482 Power Swap Stations (806 on expressways in China), 3,910 Power Charger Stations, and 22,800 chargers. Additionally, NIO has connected to over 1,650,000 third-party chargers and provided power swap services over 47 million times. NIO has launched 76 Power Journeys routes in China and one in Europe’s Rhine Valley.

Strategic Partnerships and Technological Advancements
- Partnership with FAW Hongqi: On June 24, NIO Energy Co., Ltd. (“NIO Power”) and FAW Hongqi Car Sales Co., Ltd. (“FAW Hongqi”) partnered on charging networks. This project, following a strategic cooperation agreement on May 21, aims to offer Hongqi users convenient charging services with an expansive network.
- Collaboration with GAC Energy Technology: On June 7, NIO Power and GAC Energy Technology Co., Ltd. (“GACE”) agreed to share their charging facilities through dynamic data sharing, enhancing the searchability and coverage of charging services. This initiative follows a strategic cooperation agreement signed on May 8.
- Introduction of Power Swap Station 4.0: The first batch of NIO Power Swap Station 4.0, which supports automated battery swaps for multiple brands and models, went live on June 13. This new station enhances the battery swapping experience, making it more convenient than traditional refueling.
- Partnership with Zhongan Energy: On June 13, the first battery swapping station built by NIO Power and Zhongan Energy launched at the G40 Shanghai-Shaanxi Expressway Luoji Service Area.
Recognitions and Achievements
- Quality Tour and ATQ System: The NIO Quality Tour on June 26 in Hefei, Anhui, introduced the All-Time Quality (ATQ) system, emphasizing user-centric quality.
- J.D. Power Rankings: On June 6, J.D. Power recognized the NIO ES8, ET5, and ET5T for leading their segments in the premium BEV and midsize BEV categories in the 2024 China New Energy Vehicle-Initial Quality Study (NEV-IQS).
- ICV Pilot Program: NIO was selected for the Intelligent Connected Vehicle (ICV) pilot program by China’s MIIT, Ministry of Public Security, Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development, and Ministry of Transport.
- Navigate on Pilot Milestone: By June 12, NIO users had driven over 1 billion kilometers using Navigate on Pilot (NOP) and Navigate on Pilot Plus (NOP+), the first such milestone in China.
Financial Performance
On June 6, NIO announced its unaudited financial results for the first quarter ended March 31, 2024:
- Total Revenues: RMB9,908.6 million (US$1,372.3 million)
- Vehicle Margin: 9.2%
- Cash and Cash Equivalents: RMB45.3 billion (US$6.3 billion)
- R&D Expenses: RMB2,864.2 million (US$396.7 million)

On June 25, NIO released its 2023 ESG Report, highlighting achievements in sustainable development, including efforts under “A Blue Sky,” superior products, a sustainable value chain, employee care, and charitable actions.
