2 July 2024: McLaren Automotive has announced the calendar for the inaugural McLaren Trophy America championship, debuting in spring 2025. This new racing series will feature ten rounds across five iconic venues, supporting the GT World Challenge America powered by AWS.

The McLaren Trophy America will kick off in late March at Sonoma Raceway in California. The series will then move to Texas’s Circuit of the Americas, followed by mid-season races at Virginia International Raceway in July, Road America in Wisconsin in August, and concluding at the Indianapolis road circuit in October.

This championship will spotlight the bespoke Artura Trophy race car, alongside the existing 570S Trophy cars. The Artura Trophy, with its 585PS V6 twin-turbo engine and advanced aerodynamics, promises high performance akin to GT3 class cars. Both car types will be maintained by independent teams, with full support from McLaren Motorsport.

McLaren Americas Retailer of the Year, McLaren Toronto, has already committed to the series, partnering with Motorsports in Action to field a two-car team. Fans can catch all McLaren Trophy races via live streams on the McLaren Automotive YouTube channel, which attracts over 250,000 viewers per event.

Mick McDonagh, McLaren Automotive’s Director of MSO and Motorsport, expressed excitement for the new series, highlighting its inclusion of top circuits like Indianapolis and Circuit of the Americas.

2025 McLaren Trophy America Calendar:

  • March 28-30: Sonoma, California
  • April 25-27: Circuit of the Americas, Texas

  • October 3-5: Indianapolis, Indiana

McLaren Trophy, which began in Europe in 2023, is designed for amateur GT drivers and aspiring professionals, offering competitive and engaging racing experiences. The series features cars based on McLaren’s renowned road cars, leveraging technologies like the McLaren Carbon Lightweight Architecture (MCLA) for exceptional performance and safety.
