The late actor’s character Gerry Standing got behind the wheel of the 1975 Stag model.

The BBC series New Tricks ran for 12 years, beginning in 2003.

Waterman died in 2022, aged 74, from lung cancer.

The car even appeared at his funeral.

The classic car also featured in TV series Murphy’s Law, The Last Weekend and Midsomer Murders.

Lovingly restored and maintained, the 3.0-litre V8 engine has had an overhaul and it has been resprayed, as reported by Luxury Auto News.

In classic racing green with complimentary tan interior, the driver’s seat even features a cigarette burn made by Waterman.

It is going under the hammer with H&H Classics.

A spokesperson said: “The two-by-two seater boasts a large history file dating back to 1982.

“An attendee at the late Dennis Waterman’s memorial service, which was organised by one of the seller’s friends, this famous Stag took centre stage.

“But the vendor regrets to inform potential purchasers the Triumph cannot be bought for the £4,900 it was stickered up for in one particular episode of New Tricks, but points out that if it were still possible to buy a drink at the Winchester Club then the cost of such would be considerably higher too!”

The car goes under the hammer in the H&H Classics Imperial War Museum sale, which goes live in Duxford, Cambridgeshire, today (19 Jun).

It is estimated to sell for between £18,000 and £22,000.
