New Volkswagen ID.7 Models: Dynamic GTX and ID.7 Pro S with 709 KM WLTP Range

Volkswagen is broadening its lineup of ID.7 models, introducing the ID.7 GTX, a powerful fastback with a 250 kW (340 PS) output and electric all-wheel drive. This new model made its world debut, and pre-sales are set to begin in Germany on June 6, starting at 63,155 euros.

Concurrently, the ID.7 GTX Tourer (from 63,955 euros), ID.7 Pro S (from 58,985 euros), and ID.7 Tourer Pro S (from 59,785 euros), which were unveiled in March, will also be available for pre-order. Like the ID.7 GTX, the GTX Tourer features electric all-wheel drive and a 250-kW output, while the rear-wheel-drive ID.7 Pro S and Tourer Pro S offer a maximum output of 210 kW (286 PS). All four models are equipped with an 86-kWh battery.

The ID.7 GTX stands out as the most powerful electric vehicle in Volkswagen’s current lineup. This fastback accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in just 5.4 seconds, delivering a thrilling driving experience.

The vehicle’s power is efficiently managed by its electric dual-motor all-wheel drive, featuring motors on both the front and rear axles. With a WLTP range of up to 595 km, the ID.7 GTX also boasts impressive charging capabilities, supporting up to 200 kW at DC fast-charging stations. The 86-kWh battery can charge from 10% to 80% in just 26 minutes.

The ID.7 GTX features a distinctive design, with new 20-inch Skagen alloy wheels and IQ.LIGHT LED matrix headlights, complete with illuminated Volkswagen logos. The front daytime running lights are uniquely styled for the GTX. Inside, the vehicle offers heated seats with red contrasting stitching, perforated GTX lettering on the backrests, and a multifunction steering wheel with a red center panel.

The interior ambiance is enhanced by 30-color ambient lighting. Standard features include wireless App-Connect for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, an augmented reality head-up display, the IDA voice assistant with integrated ChatGPT, a two-zone automatic air conditioner, and the Keyless Access system. Optional features like Park Assist Pro enable parking control via a smartphone.

The ID.7 GTX Tourer, while identical in technology to the GTX fastback, offers a more spacious luggage compartment, holding up to 605 liters with five passengers, compared to the fastback’s 532 liters. Both models share the same 75 kg maximum roof load. The Tourer accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.5 seconds and has a WLTP range of up to 585 km, making it the most powerful Volkswagen estate ever built.

Previously, ID.7 models were available only with a 77-kWh battery. The new ID.7 Pro S versions now come standard with an 86-kWh battery (gross capacity: 91 kWh), significantly extending their range.

The ID.7 Tourer Pro S can achieve up to 690 km on a single charge, while the ID.7 Pro S fastback offers up to 709 km, matching the range of some combustion engine models. These new Pro S models maintain the high level of equipment found in the earlier Pro versions.
