Toyota has officially unveiled the 2026 bZ, its refreshed all-electric SUV, with major upgrades in range, power, charging speed, and design.
Leading the enhancements is a new 74.7-kWh lithium-ion battery on select models, giving the XLE FWD Plus an estimated 314 miles of range—a 25% jump from the previous generation.
AWD versions also see a 50% boost in horsepower, now producing 338 hp for quicker acceleration and improved performance.

The 2026 bZ is equipped with the North American Charging System (NACS) port for compatibility with widespread DC fast chargers and includes Plug & Charge functionality for effortless authentication and billing.
With optimized DC charging, the battery can go from 10% to 80% in around 30 minutes under ideal conditions, aided by a new pre-conditioning feature that warms the battery for faster charging in cold weather. Toyota also introduces an 11-kW onboard AC charger, up from 7 kW in the previous model.

Aesthetically, the bZ gets a sleeker front-end redesign with slim LED lighting and available color-matched overfenders. Inside, the cabin is elevated with a larger 14-inch touchscreen, wireless chargers, ambient lighting in 64 colors, and a streamlined dashboard.
Both XLE and Limited trims offer FWD and AWD options, with high-end features like heated and ventilated seats, JBL premium audio, and a panoramic moonroof on upper trims.

Built on Toyota’s e-TNGA platform, the bZ maintains a low center of gravity and rigid chassis for strong driving dynamics. AWD models gain enhanced off-road control via X-MODE and Grip-Control systems. Regenerative braking paddles and intelligent throttle tuning further enhance the driving experience.

Safety and tech are front and center, with Toyota Safety Sense 3.0 standard across all models. It includes pre-collision warnings, adaptive cruise, lane keeping, and traffic sign recognition.

The Limited trim adds premium driver-assist features like Lane Change Assist, Traffic Jam Assist, and a 360-degree Panoramic View Monitor. Connectivity features span voice-activated navigation, dual Bluetooth, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and an available Wi-Fi hotspot.
Arriving in the second half of 2025, the 2026 bZ includes ToyotaCare for 2 years/25,000 miles of maintenance and 3 years of roadside assistance, with the battery covered for 8 years/100,000 miles. Pricing will be announced closer to launch.
