BMW Sweden returns to Market Art Fair for a fourth year, unveiling a striking collaboration with German artist Gregor Hildebrandt as part of the BMW Art Commission 2025.
Opening May 15 at Stockholm’s Liljevalchs Konsthall, the fair features 51 global galleries and celebrates the 50th anniversary of BMW’s iconic Art Car Collection.

Hildebrandt’s work, inspired by the film Last Year at Marienbad, transforms seven fully electric BMW i5 and i7 models into moving sculptures. These VIP shuttles will navigate Stockholm during the fair, with one car on public display outside the venue.

BMW also showcases four historic Art Cars in Sweden for the first time—works by Calder, Lichtenstein, Warhol, and Koons—highlighting the brand’s long-standing cultural engagement.

This year marks the fair’s international expansion and its full takeover of the Liljevalchs venue, including the modernist Liljevalchs+ wing. As BMW blends art and mobility, the collaboration underscores a shared vision of innovation, sustainability, and creativity on a global stage.
