Bold Debuts and New Brand Direction
Among the models premiering at the event are the Audi A5L, A5L Sportback, Q5L, and A6L e-tron, each tailored for the Chinese market with extended wheelbases, digital ecosystems, and next-gen design touches.

These vehicles ride on three distinct platforms: the Premium Platform Combustion, Premium Platform Electric, and the Advanced Digitized Platform, co-developed with SAIC to blend Audi’s design ethos with China-specific digital needs.
Topping the lineup is the AUDI E5 Sportback, the first production model from Audi’s new sub-brand AUDI, developed in partnership with SAIC.
This fully electric sportback delivers up to 579 kW of power, accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.4 seconds, and boasts a range of up to 770 kilometers, showcasing both performance and tech sophistication.

It features an all-new design, a digital-first cockpit, and enhanced driver-assist functions, making it the centerpiece of Audi’s refreshed China-focused push.
Next-Gen Audi Models Made for China
The A5L and A5L Sportback bring a refreshed look and a longer wheelbase—up to 77 mm more than their global counterparts—equipped with 48-volt mild-hybrid systems. These models emphasize comfort and efficiency while integrating panoramic MMI displays and high-end tech, tuned to local preferences.

Similarly, the Q5L offers 125 mm more wheelbase than the standard Q5, combining sleek design with dynamic performance from hybrid drivetrains.
The A6L e-tron, meanwhile, represents Audi’s all-electric sedan ambitions, produced locally in Changchun and built on the Premium Platform Electric. Its 107 kWh battery, 800-volt tech, and extended cabin space set it up as a flagship EV offering in the premium segment.

Audi’s Vision for China
Audi CEO Gernot Döllner emphasized that 2025 marks a pivotal moment in the company’s evolution in China. “We’re launching the strongest model offensive in Audi China history, and with our new AUDI brand, we’re tapping into new customer groups,” he said.
Audi is committed to offering not only top-tier electric vehicles but also continuously innovated combustion-engine options to meet diverse market demands.

The Audi booth at Auto Shanghai 2025 reflects this evolution, presenting a refreshed brand identity in a single, unified space shared with partners FAW and SAIC. Designed to be immersive and digitally engaging, it symbolizes the brand’s dual-path strategy of innovation and collaboration in China.

Looking Forward
As China leads the global shift toward electric mobility, Audi is leveraging this moment to cement its position in both EV and ICE markets. With local production, tailored tech, and a forward-looking brand ethos, Audi is poised to resonate more deeply with Chinese consumers, all while maintaining its global prestige. With these new launches, Audi isn’t just staying in the race—it’s aiming to set the pace.
