BMW has unveiled its most powerful prototype to date—the BMW Vision Driving Experience—at Auto Shanghai 2025. Based on the design language of the Neue Klasse, this high-performance electric test vehicle is engineered to push the limits of driving dynamics.

At its core is the “Heart of Joy” central computer, exposed in the concept’s interior, which works with BMW’s Dynamic Performance Control software to orchestrate all driving functions with extreme precision.

Test drivers Jens Klingmann and Elias Houndtonji showcased its performance through dynamic maneuvers during BMW Brand Night. The VDX, as it’s called, also sports a luminous, self-illuminating paint that transitions from neon yellow to a gradient of orange and pink under UV light, emphasizing its futuristic aesthetics.
