Now, the content creator has revealed a few “easy” ways to fix a broken vehicle – without costing a fortune, reports Luxury Auto News.
In a clip, which has racked up 1.2m and 40,000 likes, Ms May claims it’s saved her “thousands”.
She begins with how to address a faulty air conditioning unit.
“It’s actually cheap and easy to fix yourself,” May said.
“At a shop, they’ll charge hundreds or even thousands – they’re totally ripping us off.
“For example, when you turn on the AC, it stinks and the cooling sucks.
“The shop will push for a full AC sterilisation – another few hundred bucks, and totally unnecessary.
“Pop open the glovebox and press the little button [inside] to open it.”
May then advises removing the cover and taking out the AC filter, which was covered with dust.
“Oh my god, it’s filthy, no wonder it stinks,” she continues, before simply suggesting giving it a quick wipe over.
Her next tip addressed a broken side mirror.
Instead of taking it to a garage, May claims it’s something that can be fixed all by yourself.
“Use your key to pry under the mirror’s edge,” she said.
“Buy a £5 replacement online, align it and snap it in.”
May also showed how to fix gaps in the car’s panels, gesturing toward the bonnet of her car.
“Twist these rubber stoppers clockwise under the hood,” she said.
“Look, the gap is gone.”
Her final tip provided an insight into what to do if the car key dies while the car is unlocked.
She located a small hole under the handle on one of the doors and carefully pried off a piece of the handle.
Underneath, there was a lock cylinder which allowed her to unlock the car.
“We pop out the key, aim at this tiny hole, and pry it gently,” May, who is from China, said.
“This will expose the lock cylinder, then insert the key, twist it gently, then the car door will open.”
Users have flocked to the comments to share their reactions – and words of thanks.
Kihm said, “Love your tips.”
