Mercedes-Benz has unveiled the G-Class Edition STRONGER THAN THE 1980s, a limited collector’s model paying tribute to the original 1980s G-Class. Only 460 units will be produced, making it an ultra-exclusive release.
The special edition revives three historic paint colors — Agave Green, Cream, and Colorado Beige — with retro details like orange turn signals, black bumpers, a vintage-style grille, and classic 5-spoke alloy wheels.

Design cues like the old-school Mercedes badge, mud flaps, protective headlamp grilles, and a spare wheel cover evoke the original 280 GE.

Inside, the retro theme continues with dove grey fabric seat inserts, “STRONGER THAN THE 1980s” trim on the grab handle, and a Schöckl Proved badge.

Each SUV includes a “1 of 460” badge and modern comforts like a glass sunroof, Nappa leather steering wheel, and Burmester® 3D surround sound system.

Available in G 450 d or G 500 variants, the model blends 1980s charm with today’s tech. Orders are open now in Germany, starting at €160,055 including VAT.
