In Q1 2025, Mercedes-Benz Group sold 529,200 vehicles globally, including 446,300 cars and 82,900 vans, in a market marked by shifting dynamics and high demand for premium and electrified models.

Notable gains came from Mercedes-AMG (+17%), G-Class (+18%), E-Class (+32%), and Plug-In Hybrids (+8%). Electric van sales jumped 59%, highlighting strong interest in the brand’s growing EV lineup.

Mercedes-Benz Cars Highlights

Mercedes-Benz Cars recorded 446,300 units sold (-4%), with strong demand in the U.S. (+1%) and South Korea (+40%), though overall sales dipped due to transitions in the Entry segment, especially post-smart EQ phase-out in Europe.

Top-End vehicles reached 65,100 units, representing 14.6% of total sales. Mercedes-AMG and G-Class both posted double-digit growth, and Mercedes maintained its leadership in China’s ultra-luxury segment. The upcoming CLA is set to bolster future EV performance.

Plug-in hybrids grew 8%, but BEV sales fell 14%, impacted by the model phase-out and market volatility. Core segment sales (GLC, E-Class) remained steady at 263,400 units, with standout performance from the GLC (+14%) and E-Class (+32%).

Mercedes-Benz Vans Overview

Vans sales totaled 82,900 units (-21%), with the decline linked to the discontinued Metris in North America. However, electric van sales surged to 4,700 units (+59%), now making up 6% of total van sales.

Private van sales rose 22%, especially midsize (+21%) and small vans (+33%). Commercial vans were more affected, down 27% overall, amid macroeconomic pressures and stiffer competition, especially in Europe and North America.
