At Milan Design Week 2025, Lexus unveiled a series of innovative installations that explore the synergy between technology and humanity, drawing inspiration from the cockpit of the LF-ZC prototype and its Black Butterfly dual-interface design.
Running from April 8 to 13 at Superstudio Più, the exhibition reflects Lexus’ human-centric design philosophy through two standout projects: “A-Un” and “Discover Together.”

“A-Un”, created in partnership with Japanese design studios SIX and STUDEO, symbolizes harmony and connection through an enormous screen structure—three metres high, ten wide, and four deep—crafted by hand from 35 kilometres of bamboo fibre.
This immersive piece synchronizes with visitors’ heartbeats, echoing Lexus’ vision for future mobility where vehicles are intuitive and evolve with their users.

“Discover Together” continues Lexus’ commitment to nurturing emerging design talent, spotlighting interactive works by three teams: Bascule Inc. (“Earthspective”), Northeastern University (“Our Energy Nexus”), and Lexus designers (“Discover Your Butterfly”).
Each project reimagines the Black Butterfly motif to explore environmental awareness, collective impact, and the power of small, intentional actions.

Lexus also announced the evolution of its design competition, now called “Lexus Design Award – Discover Together.” Relaunching this summer, the program will emphasize collaboration and innovation, culminating in a dedicated event at Milan Design Week 2026.

The official opening of the Lexus exhibition on April 7 was led by executives including Pascal Ruch, Takashi Watanabe, and Koichi Suga, alongside the creative minds behind the installations.
Together, they shared insights into the future of design and the role Lexus aims to play in shaping a more intuitive and connected mobility experience.
