Volkswagen has announced a major $580 million investment in Argentina to develop and produce the next-generation Amarok, set to launch in 2027.

Designed specifically for the South American market, the new mid-size pickup will be built at VW’s Pacheco plant, which boasts 15 years of Amarok expertise and over 770,000 units produced.

This investment is part of Volkswagen’s global strategy to boost regional growth and create market-specific solutions.

Volkswagen Latin America CEO Alexander Seitz called Argentina “a cornerstone of our South American strategy,” praising the country’s industrial capability.

Marcellus Puig, President of Volkswagen Argentina, highlighted the Amarok’s role in the brand’s legacy and the new model’s combination of signature design with cutting-edge software and tech.
