Toyota has announced the 2026 GR86 Yuzu Edition, a limited-run variant of its beloved sports coupe that adds a bold splash of color and premium performance features.
Arriving at dealerships in Fall 2025, only 860 units of the Yuzu Edition will be produced for the North American market, making it one of the most exclusive GR86 offerings to date.
Inspired by the Scion FR-S Release Series 1.0, the Yuzu Edition features a vibrant yellow exterior that pays homage to its predecessor while signaling its own unique identity.

Based on the GR86 Premium grade, the Yuzu model is distinguished by 18-inch matte-black wheels, bold black accents, and a matching black interior enhanced with yellow stitching and trim.
Inside, sport seats trimmed in black Ultrasuede® with yellow perforations combine style with support. The steering wheel, parking brake handle, and door trim also feature yellow contrast stitching, giving the cabin a distinctive and energetic feel.

Performance takes center stage with the inclusion of Brembo® brakes and SACHS dampers—components typically reserved for the optional Performance Package, but made standard on the Yuzu Edition.
The high-performance dampers improve stability while preserving the GR86’s characteristic agility and responsiveness, and red-painted Brembo calipers deliver confident stopping power.
All 2026 GR86 models, including the Yuzu Edition, are powered by a naturally aspirated 2.4-liter FA-24 engine delivering 228 horsepower and 184 lb.-ft. of torque.

A Torsen® limited-slip differential comes standard, along with a choice of a six-speed manual or automatic transmission. Acceleration from 0 to 60 mph is clocked at 6.1 seconds for the manual and 6.6 seconds for the automatic.
The GR86 lineup for 2026 will consist of three grades: the base GR86, GR86 Premium, and the GR86 Yuzu Edition. All models benefit from updates introduced last year, including revised throttle mapping and enhanced engine torque control for smoother, more linear response.
Weight remains a central focus in the GR86’s design, with the manual base model tipping the scales at just 2,811 pounds. Extensive use of lightweight materials such as aluminum in the hood, fenders, and roof, and lighter seats contribute to its nimble character.
The chassis, constructed from a strategic mix of high-strength steel, hot-stamped steel, and aluminum, ensures a rigid, responsive frame that supports dynamic driving.
The Yuzu Edition is equipped with an eight-speaker audio system and an 8-inch touchscreen multimedia display, along with a full suite of driver-focused features including a leather-wrapped steering wheel, digital instrument panel, push-button start, and selectable drive modes.

Automatic models offer paddle shifters and intelligent gear selection in Sport mode for a more connected experience.
Safety is a key pillar in the GR86 platform. Automatic transmission models include Toyota’s full Active Safety Suite, while manual models offer essential features like Pre-Collision Braking and Adaptive Cruise Control.
All grades come with seven airbags, Toyota’s Star Safety System™, and a suite of connected services including Remote Connect, Service Connect, and Safety Connect trials.
The 2026 Toyota GR86 Yuzu Edition blends expressive design, engineering excellence, and driving excitement, delivering a limited-edition package aimed squarely at sports car enthusiasts looking to stand out. Further pricing and specification details will be revealed later in 2025.
