For some, Jokkmokk is a land of wild reindeer, icy plunges, and glowing northern lights. For others, it’s a high-speed frozen playground. For Sergio Marques, it’s all of the above.
“The food, the atmosphere, the cars—it’s been amazing,” says Sergio, Polestar 4 owner and Commercial Director at one of Portugal’s largest wine producers. “Coming from a place with sunshine, no ice, and slower driving, this is a unique experience. I feel like a champion!”

Sergio’s journey with Polestar began years before setting foot in the Arctic Circle. His fascination started in Portugal when he test-drove the Polestar 2 in 2022. “I knew then I wanted one,” he says. When the Polestar 4 launched in 2024, he didn’t hesitate.
Just two months into ownership, the SUV-coupe has already exceeded his expectations. “It’s not just about looks—it’s a thrill to drive. Polestar is built for those who love driving. I commute 100 kilometers daily, and now everyone at work loves Polestar, too.”

Trading Portuguese roads for ice-track racing in Jokkmokk was a new challenge. “Not many Portuguese people get to do this!” he laughs. “I have to admit, I’m not a great driver. But this experience has been fantastic, and after this, I’ll definitely be better.”
As he heads back to Portugal, the lessons learned on ice will stay with him. “We don’t have this weather at home, but these driving techniques will make me feel safer. And next year, I’m bringing my son, Thiago.”

Would he recommend the Polestar Jokkmokk experience? “If you love cars, meeting passionate people, and Polestar, this is for you. Thank you, Polestar.”
