The Porsche Taycan Turbo GT with Weissach package has set a new electric car lap record at Interlagos, São Paulo, completing the 4.3-km circuit in 1:42.1 minutes.
Driven by three-time IMSA champion Felipe Nasr, the Taycan shaved nearly eight seconds off its previous record and even outpaced an earlier 911 Turbo S lap time.
Nasr praised the car’s brutal acceleration, precise handling, and stability under braking, reaching 272 km/h before Curva do Café and 200 km/h exiting Curva do Sol.

This marks Porsche’s fourth electric lap record on four continents, following record-breaking performances at the Nürburgring Nordschleife, Shanghai International Circuit, and Laguna Seca. The Taycan Turbo GT has also served as the Formula E safety car since May 2024.

Powered by an advanced pulse inverter, the 1,100+ PS Taycan Turbo GT features Attack Mode, boosting power for 10 seconds, and a lightweight design for enhanced track performance. The Weissach package optimizes weight savings further by removing the rear bench seat.

With each lap record, the Taycan Turbo GT solidifies its place as a high-performance electric sports car built for the track.
