A unique, 217mph McLaren P1 with one very ridiculously, careful owner is selling for £1.2million.
The 2015 hybrid supercar has just 80 miles on the clock.
In fact, the owner is so cautious, they never even got behind the wheel.

The sports car was delivered brand new and has been kept on display ever since.

The P1 – which can do 0-60mph in 2.4 seconds – is being sold by RM Sotheby’s.
Only 375 of them were ever made.

It is a one-of-a-kind because it was the only one ever made with matte green paintwork and orange interior and detail.
The listing reads: “The year 2013 was perhaps the most important for McLaren Automotive thus far within the 21st century.

“As it saw the introduction of the P1. McLaren’s bold foray into the hybrid hypercar trio against the Ferrari LaFerrari and Porsche 918 Spyder.
“It was the P1 that was arguably the standout of the three.

“Rarer than both the Ferrari or the Porsche, the P1 introduced an entirely new design language for McLaren, one that would carry onto their future automobiles, particularly with the 650S and 675LT.
“The last McLaren to make such a splash for the company was the F1, and while the P1 would never eclipse its predecessor.

“It can be argued that the P1 did mean more for McLaren than the LaFerrari or 918 Spyder did for Ferrari or Porsche.
“While both of those companies already had well-established client bases at the level and their cars were obvious evolutions of their predecessors.

“The P1 was a bold step forward in nearly every direction, visually, mechanically, and in terms of exclusivity. McLaren wanted the P1 to have a huge impact, and it sure did.
“For the 375 individuals lucky enough to have purchased a P1 new, specification was clearly at the forefront of their minds once the car was unveiled.

“And while for many it was an easy decision to match their new P1 to the McLaren F1 currently sitting in their garage or to select from the standard list of colours and interior materials, a handful of owners decided to take their P1 a step further.”

They added: “Delivered new to the current owner in Qatar, his P1 configuration remains unique within the model’s production run. One of only a handful of P1s produced with matte paintwork, the owner decided to opt for matte green.
“To celebrate McLaren’s rich motorsport heritage, McLaren Orange has been used to accentuate some of the P1s more striking details.

“Both the McLaren and P1 badges on the nose and tail are painted McLaren Orange, rather than the standard red.
“As are the brake calipers, wheel caps, tops of the rear spoiler hydraulic rams, and the P1 logos on the top of the engine and side skirts, just aft of the front wheels.”
The spokesperson continued: “The P1 is presented in virtually as-new condition, having remained in static storage within the owner’s collection since being delivered.

“An inspection report carried out by Dragon Racing in Dubai in late 2024 is available in the car’s digital history file.”
It is registered in Qatar and the sale takes place in Dubai on 28 March, as reported on Luxury Auto News.
