Joe Gibbs Racing newcomer Chase Briscoe made history on Wednesday by securing Toyota’s first-ever Daytona 500 pole position at Daytona International Speedway.

Driving the No. 19 Bass Pro Shops Camry, Briscoe topped both qualifying rounds, clocking a 49.249 in the final session to claim the top starting spot for Sunday’s Great American Race.

Briscoe called the achievement “unbelievable,” expressing gratitude to Joe Gibbs Racing, Toyota, and Bass Pro Shops. He highlighted the team’s offseason focus on improving superspeedway qualifying, making the pole win even more special.

Briscoe will lead the field when the green flag drops on Sunday, while 11 Toyota Camry XSE drivers will compete in Thursday’s Duels to finalize the starting lineup—marking a record number of TRD, U.S.A. engines in a single Daytona 500.
