Hyundai’s IONIQ 5 N has been named MotorWeek’s 2025 Drivers’ Choice award winner for Best Performance Car at the Chicago Auto Show. The high-performance electric SUV impressed judges with its thrilling driving dynamics, powered by Hyundai’s Electric-Global Modular Platform (E-GMP) and advanced N motorsport technologies.
“The IONIQ 5 N isn’t just a standout among high-performance EVs—it competes and wins against all enthusiast cars,” said Ricky Lao, director of product planning at Hyundai Motor North America. MotorWeek host John Davis called it a unanimous pick, praising its enhanced power, handling, braking, and features like the N Drift Optimizer. “This car is just bonkers—so hurry up and get one,” Davis said, emphasizing its aggressive styling, upgraded seats, and engaging performance.
