This extraordinary sporting achievement was immortalised in 2023 by a series narrated by Keanu Reeves.

The other two cars, including the championship winning vehicle, were gifted to Ross Brawn and Mercedes.

The vehicle’s success is largely down to the revolutionary double diffuser which significantly improved the car’s aerodynamics.

The innovation by the Honda engineer Saneyuki Minegawa made the F1 car the fastest on the track.

The car will feature at auction on 3 May at the Miami International Autodrome.

Bonhams, who are hosting the auction stated: “This revolutionary car stunned the motorsport world with its innovative double diffuser design, ultimately leading to Brawn GP securing the 2009 Formula 1 Constructors’ and Driver’s World Championships during its one and only season.

“The only chassis ever to be available publicly, chassis 001/01 offers a once in a lifetime opportunity to acquire the embodiment of one of the greatest underdog stories in Formula 1 history.”

There is no estimate for the sale.

But an F1 Mercedes car driven by Lewis Hamilton sold for £15.1million two years ago.
