BMW M GmbH has set a new sales record in 2024, delivering 206,582 vehicles and marking its 13th consecutive year of growth. This milestone builds on its 2023 achievement of surpassing 200,000 vehicles sold for the first time.
The high demand spanned performance and high-performance models across all drive types, with the all-electric BMW i4 M50 leading sales for the third year in a row.

The i4 M50’s dual-motor system delivers 400 kW (544 hp) and up to 522 km of range, blending M’s hallmark agility and dynamics with cutting-edge electric performance. Meanwhile, high-performance models such as the BMW M2 and M3 Touring saw exceptional growth, with the M2 achieving a 64% sales surge.
Electrification also boosted sales, with the BMW XM, M’s first electrified high-performance model, recording a 16% increase. Its M HYBRID System generates up to 550 kW (748 hp), establishing it as a standout in the luxury segment. Overall, high-performance models contributed significantly, with 66,805 units sold—a year-over-year increase of 8%.
BMW M vehicles accounted for 9.4% of all BMW Group sales, further solidifying the brand’s dominance. Market leadership was sustained in key regions, including the U.S., the UK, and Germany.
Chairman Franciscus van Meel emphasized the continued focus on innovation, including plans for the all-electric BMW M3 and expanded offerings across combustion, hybrid, and electric drives.
Motorsport success also played a vital role, with BMW M securing 215 victories across over 1,000 races in 2024, including a podium at the 24 Hours of Le Mans. The 2025 season will see continued emphasis on the BMW M Hybrid V8 and debut EVO versions of customer racing models.
