Mazda North American Operations (MNAO) closed 2024 with record-breaking achievements, reporting December sales of 40,201 vehicles, a 1.7% year-over-year increase and the company’s best-ever December performance.
Full-year sales surged by 16.8%, totaling 424,382 vehicles. On a daily selling rate (DSR) basis, accounting for 25 selling days in December versus 26 in 2023, sales grew by 5.8%.
Certified Pre-Owned (CPO) sales also saw a significant boost, with 5,931 vehicles sold in December, a 17% increase compared to the previous year.

December Highlights
- CX-30: Best December ever with 8,875 units sold (+56.5%).
- CX-50: Achieved 8,083 sales, marking its best December and contributing to record annual sales (+82.6%).
- CX-90: December sales rose 25.5%, reaching 5,995 units.
2024 Milestones
- Record Annual Sales: 424,382 vehicles sold (+16.8%).
- Safety Excellence: Mazda earned eight 2024 IIHS Top Safety Pick+ awards, leading all automakers.
- Product Launches: Introduced the CX-70 and CX-50 Hybrid, with the latter produced at Mazda Toyota Manufacturing in Alabama.
- Dealer Expansion: Opened the 329th Retail Evolution dealership, enhancing customer experience.
- Philanthropy: Mazda Foundation awarded over $500,000 to combat food insecurity and support education and job opportunities.
Tom Donnelly, President and CEO of MNAO, credited Mazda’s growth to its expanding product lineup, the success of the “Move and Be Moved” brand platform, and the dedication of the company’s dealer network. He expressed optimism for continued success in 2025.
Regional Success
- Mazda Canada: Reported December sales of 4,566 vehicles (+2.4%) and full-year growth of 23.2%.
- Mazda Mexico: Posted December sales of 8,677 vehicles (+19%) and an impressive annual growth of 31%.
