Hyundai Motor America reported its best-ever annual and quarterly sales in 2024, achieving a total of 836,802 units sold—a 4% increase from 2023. December sales hit an all-time high of 78,498 units, marking a 4% year-over-year increase.

Retail sales for the month rose 9%, with electrified vehicles (EVs, hybrids, and plug-ins) surging 50%. Key models like the IONIQ 5, Tucson HEV, and Santa Fe HEV achieved record-breaking performances.

The fourth quarter also set new records, with total sales up 10% year-over-year to 226,308 units. Electrified vehicle retail sales soared by 64% compared to Q4 2023. Hyundai’s EV sales rose 12% in December, while hybrid sales jumped 85%.

Randy Parker, Hyundai Motor North America’s CEO, credited the brand’s diverse offerings and upcoming innovations like the IONIQ 9 and expanded U.S. production for sustaining this growth.

Hyundai’s achievements extended beyond sales. The IONIQ 5 earned multiple accolades, including spots on Car and Driver’s 10Best list and a GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS™ title. Hyundai also secured top honors in safety with 22 models recognized by IIHS.

Looking ahead, Hyundai is poised for continued success, supported by its U.S. manufacturing footprint, including the new Metaplant in Georgia, and its commitment to electrification and innovation.
