BMW M Motorsport has announced that Kelvin van der Linde will become a works driver starting in the 2025 season, reuniting him with his brother Sheldon, who joined the team in 2019. The 28-year-old South African will take on an extensive racing program with the new BMW M4 GT3 EVO, further details of which will be revealed early next year.
Kelvin van der Linde brings a wealth of experience and success to BMW M Motorsport. He has twice won the 24 Hours of Nürburgring (2017, 2022), clinched the ADAC GT Masters championship in 2014 and 2019, and achieved multiple podium finishes at the 24 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps, including with Team WRT.

His recent accomplishments include competing in the DTM series, where he narrowly missed out on the championship in 2021 and 2024, amassing eight wins and 14 podiums over 64 races.
BMW M Motorsport’s head, Andreas Roos, praised van der Linde’s talent, stating: “Kelvin is one of the top GT drivers worldwide. With our new BMW M4 GT3 EVO, he will play a vital role in achieving victories and titles at major GT events.”
Kelvin van der Linde expressed excitement about the move, noting its personal significance. “This comes full circle for my family. My father raced BMW touring cars, and my brother joined BMW M Motorsport a few years ago. It’s a dream come true to drive together. I’m eager to adapt to the new BMW M4 GT3 EVO with an extensive racing program next season.”
The addition of Kelvin van der Linde strengthens BMW M Motorsport’s lineup as it aims to compete at the highest level of GT racing.
