Thomas Klein has been appointed Head of Mercedes‑Benz Vans, effective March 1, 2025, succeeding Mathias Geisen, who will join the Board of Management of Mercedes‑Benz Group AG on February 1, 2025. Geisen will take over responsibility for Sales on the Board as of March 1, 2025.
Ola Källenius, Chairman of the Board of Management of Mercedes‑Benz Group AG, praised Klein’s extensive international experience, strong leadership, and strategic acumen, stating, “Thomas is the ideal candidate to lead Mercedes‑Benz Vans.”

Klein, 46, began his career with DaimlerChrysler AG in 1999 at the Mercedes‑Benz Vans plant in Düsseldorf. Over the years, he has held numerous positions in sales and marketing across Germany, South Africa, and the Middle East, including President and CEO Sales & Marketing in Dubai, where he managed the Mercedes‑Benz Cars General Distributor office.
In 2021, he became head of Mercedes‑Benz Korea, advancing the company’s strategic goals in the region. Since July 2023, Klein has served as Vice President Sales Planning & Product Management Mercedes‑Benz Cars and Integrated Production Program, overseeing global sales planning, volume strategy, and pricing.
With his deep expertise and global perspective, Klein is poised to drive the continued success of Mercedes‑Benz Vans in his new role.
