Hyundai Motor Company has appointed Randy Parker as CEO of Hyundai and Genesis Motor North America, effective January 1, 2025.
Parker will oversee operations in the U.S., Canada, and Mexico, as well as Hyundai’s manufacturing facilities in Alabama and Georgia, while continuing as CEO of Hyundai Motor America. He succeeds José Muñoz, who has been promoted to president and CEO of Hyundai Motor Company.

Parker, who joined Hyundai in 2019, has been pivotal in driving record-breaking sales and making Hyundai one of the fastest-growing automotive brands in the U.S. He became CEO of Hyundai Motor America in 2022, becoming the first African American to lead a major OEM regional market.
“It’s an honor to lead Hyundai and Genesis in North America,” said Parker. “We aim to deliver exceptional products and elevate the customer experience while adapting to market changes.”
Parker’s three decades in the automotive industry include leadership roles at INFINITI, Nissan, GM, and GMAC. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Texas Christian University and has completed executive programs at Harvard and Penn State.
Hyundai Motor North America manages strategic operations for Hyundai and Genesis across the region, supporting over 1,400 dealerships and achieving 1.3 million vehicle sales in 2023.
