Hyundai Motor Group deploys 21 XCIENT hydrogen fuel-cell trucks for zero-emissions logistics at HMGMA, advancing sustainability and the HTWO hydrogen value chain initiative.

Hyundai Motor Group Metaplant America (HMGMA), in partnership with Glovis America, has rolled out 21 Hyundai XCIENT heavy-duty hydrogen fuel-cell trucks to support zero-emissions logistics operations at its facility in Bryan County, Georgia.

These trucks, which release no emissions, will transport vehicle parts daily between HMGMA suppliers and the on-site Consolidation Center, eventually expanding to a broader network.

“This initiative reflects our commitment to sustainable transportation solutions,” said HMGMA CEO Oscar Kwon.

The deployment is part of Hyundai’s HTWO strategy, focusing on advancing the hydrogen value chain across production, storage, and utilization. HTWO Logistics, a joint venture between Hyundai Motor Company and Glovis America, will install a mobile hydrogen refueling station at the Megasite, with a permanent facility in development.

Jim Park, SVP of Hyundai Motor North America, highlighted the trucks’ role in demonstrating a “closed-loop hydrogen logistics ecosystem” to enhance manufacturing sustainability.

HMGMA, Hyundai’s first dedicated EV production facility, integrates AI-driven manufacturing with a focus on sustainability and efficiency, underscoring Hyundai Motor Group’s commitment to environmental responsibility and innovation.
