Chilean racing talent Nico Pino has wrapped up the 2024 Stellantis Motorsport Young Driver Programme after a test in the DS E-TENSE FE25 Formula E car. Pino, who joined DS Automobiles’ motorsport division in April 2024, completed an intensive development schedule that culminated in a test of the Gen3 Evo car currently used in Formula E Season 11.
The 20-year-old driver, who also competes in LMP2 and GT racing categories, impressed during the programme, which included eight test days in the Gen2 DS E-TENSE FE21 and concluded with a high-performance session in the FE25 driven by Jean-Eric Vergne and Maximilian Günther. Pino’s final test provided valuable feedback for DS Performance as the team prepares for future seasons.

“The new tires and four-wheel drive of the Gen3 Evo make it much faster and more efficient,” said Pino. “This experience has given me motivation and knowledge that will be essential for my career. I’m already looking forward to what’s next.”
Eugenio Franzetti, Director of DS Performance, praised Pino’s dedication and potential, emphasizing the value of the young driver programme in nurturing emerging talent. “Nico was hard-working and determined, especially in the DS E-TENSE FE25. We would be delighted to continue this adventure with him in 2025,” he said.
DS Automobiles, a dominant force in Formula E since its debut, boasts an impressive track record, including four championship titles, 16 victories, 51 podiums, and 24 pole positions over 121 races.
As DS Performance looks ahead to 2025, its young driver initiative aims to remain a cornerstone of its strategy to prepare racers for the challenges of elite motorsport.
