This innovative initiative combines renewable energy with cutting-edge mobility solutions to address growing challenges in balancing the Netherlands’ renewable energy grid.

  • Fleet of 500 Renault 5 E-Tech Electric Vehicles:
    Renault Group will supply the fleet, equipped with Mobilize’s V2G technology, allowing vehicles to both charge and discharge power, stabilizing the grid during peak demand.
  • Bidirectional Charging Stations:
    Managed by We Drive Solar, these stations will enable energy transfer between the grid and vehicles, supporting renewable energy integration and grid reliability.
  • Operation by MyWheels:
    As the Netherlands’ leading car-sharing platform, MyWheels will manage the fleet, integrating energy and mobility to provide sustainable shared transportation options.

Addressing Energy and Mobility Challenges

The Netherlands, a global leader in solar and wind energy, faces challenges with grid stability due to its rapid renewable energy growth. Utrecht, where 35% of rooftops already host solar panels, is at the forefront of tackling these issues.
