This win builds on Alfa Romeo’s rich history with the 1000 Miglia. Earlier in 2024, the brand celebrated another major triumph when the 1929 Alfa Romeo 6C 1750 Super Sport, driven by Vesco and Salvinelli of the Villa Trasqua team, won the historical reenactment of the race in Italy.
Such achievements reaffirm Alfa Romeo’s dominance in vintage motorsport and pay homage to its unparalleled success in this iconic competition.
The original 1000 Miglia, a speed race held between 1927 and 1957, saw Alfa Romeo establish its legacy early on. In 1928, Giuseppe Campari and Giulio Ramponi piloted the 6C 1500 Super Sport to victory, setting the stage for an unmatched record of 11 wins, including seven consecutive victories from 1932 to 1938.
As the 1000 Miglia transitioned into a regularity race in 1982, Alfa Romeo’s participation continued to highlight the enduring appeal of its historic models. The brand’s victories, both past and present, underscore the unbreakable bond between Alfa Romeo and the 1000 Miglia—a celebration of Italian engineering and automotive heritage on the global stage.
