The all-electric Peugeot E-5008 has been awarded the 2024 Golden Steering Wheel for Best Family Vehicle by Axel Springer Verlag, following a decisive vote by readers of AUTO BILD and BILD am SONNTAG magazines along with an expert jury.
This prestigious honor underscores the E-5008’s appeal as an ideal family SUV, praised for its spacious design, advanced technology, and impressive all-electric range of up to 664 km.

Christian Dietsch, Managing Director of Peugeot Germany, expressed pride in the achievement, highlighting the significance of the award in recognizing Peugeot’s commitment to designing vehicles that align with the needs of modern families. “Our emphasis in developing our SUVs has been on delivering designs, interiors, and technologies that meet the needs of families,” Dietsch stated.
Designed exclusively as an electric vehicle, the Peugeot E-5008 delivers a robust presence with aerodynamic styling and a refined, spacious interior for up to seven passengers.
Storage is ample, with 748 liters of boot space available in the five-seat configuration, expanding to a substantial 1,815 liters when the rear seats are folded down. Central to the interior is the PEUGEOT Panoramic i-Cockpit®, featuring a head-up display and a 21-inch curved touchscreen panel for intuitive control and visibility.
The E-5008 offers a choice of all-electric powertrains, including a newly introduced long-range version showcased at the 2024 Paris Motor Show, capable of covering up to 664 km on a single charge. The model’s energy efficiency, at 18.2–19.4 kWh per 100 km with zero emissions, demonstrates Peugeot’s commitment to sustainable driving.
The Golden Steering Wheel, established by Axel Springer in 1976, remains one of Europe’s highest automotive accolades. Judged through reader input and a jury that includes racing champions and public figures, the award process culminated in final test drives at Germany’s Lausitzring circuit.
