Kia America has unveiled two innovative EV concept vehicles at the 2024 SEMA Show in Las Vegas, demonstrating a future where adaptability, utility, and sustainability are seamlessly integrated. Developed by Kia Design Center America, the concepts—the EV9 ADVNTR SUV and PV5 WKNDR van—highlight Kia’s vision of lifestyle-driven, eco-friendly mobility.
The EV9 ADVNTR Concept SUV is a rugged, all-electric three-row designed for off-road escapades. With a 3-inch lift, custom tires, reinforced rocker panels, and unique front and rear facias, the EV9 ADVNTR is built for adventurous journeys. A custom roof rack allows for flexible storage, from luggage to roof-mounted tents, turning this SUV into the ultimate outdoor companion.

The PV5 WKNDR Concept Van is based on Kia’s Purpose Beyond Vehicles (PBV) line, designed for lifestyle versatility. Outfitted with off-road tires and a modular interior, the PV5 WKNDR offers adaptability akin to a “Swiss Army knife on wheels.” The van features an innovative “Gear Head” storage system, offering external gear space or a mobile pantry for cooking with a view. Solar panels and hydro turbine wheels provide sustainable power, while an onboard compressor helps inflate tires or camping gear, enabling full self-sufficiency.
In addition to the EV concepts, Kia revealed myth-inspired versions of their popular SUVs:
- Sportage THETIS: Built for water adventures, this model features a river-inspired wrap, a Rhino Rack kayak mount, and durable wheels for off-road journeys.
- Telluride ZEUS: Designed to tackle challenging terrain, the ZEUS features a mountain-themed wrap, iKamper rooftop tent, and a powerful exhaust system, echoing the God of Thunder’s strength.
- Sorento GAIA: With earthy tones and off-road capability, the GAIA Sorento provides outdoor functionality with a projector screen, soundbar, and perimeter lighting for a complete camping experience.
Steven Center, Kia America’s COO & EVP, emphasized that these concepts aim to “level up” Kia’s commitment to rugged, adaptable vehicles that support active, adventurous lifestyles. The SEMA Show provides an ideal platform to showcase these explorative concepts, offering a look at Kia’s innovative direction for the future.
