Kia America reported its best October sales on record, with 68,908 units sold, driven by a surge in demand for its electrified vehicles and SUVs. The company’s lineup of electric (EV), plug-in hybrid (PHEV), and hybrid (HEV) models saw significant year-over-year growth, with sales climbing 70%, 65%, and 49% respectively.

This growth contributed to Kia’s highest-ever sales for electrified models in October, while SUVs accounted for 73% of total sales, reflecting strong consumer interest in this segment.

The sales milestone was bolstered by record-breaking October sales for Kia’s Sportage, Carnival, and EV6 models. Other models like the Sorento, Telluride, K5, and Soul also posted double-digit growth, underscoring the popularity of Kia’s varied offerings.

Eric Watson, Kia America’s vice president of sales operations, attributed the success to Kia’s broad appeal, noting, “Kia continues to attract a diverse range of customers with 10 compelling utility models, many available in all-electric, plug-in hybrid, hybrid, and traditional ICE powertrains.”

Alongside sales achievements, Kia America launched several initiatives, including $400,000 in hurricane relief for Southeastern U.S. communities affected by Hurricanes Helene and Milton. Kia’s support package includes $500 in assistance for customers replacing storm-damaged vehicles between October 4, 2024, and January 2, 2025.

Additionally, the company renewed its “Accelerate the Good” Dealer Match program, which raised over $4.5 million for nonprofits across the U.S. in 2023, supporting causes from childhood cancer research to natural disaster relief.

Kia also returned to the Rebelle Rally, with a modified Telluride X-Pro competing in the event for the third year. Driven by professional rally driver Verena Mei, the Telluride X-Pro aims to maintain Kia’s podium presence in the demanding X-Cross class.
