61% of Lexus Select Program Car Sales Are Hybrids: A Shift Towards Sustainability

Lexus Select, a used car sales program offering a robust warranty, has seen significant growth in the first half of 2024, with transactions increasing by 28 percent. The NX model has emerged as the most popular choice among customers, with 61% of the cars sold being hybrids.

This program is accessible at all Lexus brand showrooms, allowing customers to purchase second-hand cars with verified histories and technical conditions. The program includes not only Lexus vehicles but also other brands, all subjected to detailed inspections and covered by a guarantee. Lexus Select is operated by all 21 dealers of the brand.

According to Piotr Jeżak, the program manager for Toyota Pewne Auto and Lexus Select, “The Lexus Select program stands out on the market with the highest quality of customer service and a wide range of financial and insurance products. We also have the best offer of reliable cars with economical hybrids. Sales results confirm that our customers are looking for such cars from the secondary market most often.”

During the first half of 2024, the program facilitated the sale of 1,632 used cars, marking a 28% increase compared to the same period in the previous year. The NX model was the most sought-after, with 415 units sold. This SUV has been available on the Polish market since 2014. Other popular models included the RX with 261 units and the UX with 234 units sold.

A significant portion, 61%, of the cars purchased through Lexus Select are hybrids. The hybrid NX led the sales with 318 units, followed by the RX with 178 units, and both the UX and ES with 157 units each. This trend highlights the demand for premium cars that offer comfort, advanced features, reliability, and low fuel consumption. Lexus, with nearly two decades of experience in manufacturing electrified vehicles, consistently receives high marks for the durability of its hybrids from independent research and consumer organizations such as Consumer Reports and JD Power.

In the Lexus Select program, each vehicle undergoes a comprehensive inspection by qualified mechanics. This includes checking the technical condition, history, and assessing the appearance of both the body and interior. Each car is also tested on a lift and during a test drive. The technical condition is further backed by a one-year Select warranty with no mileage limit, regardless of the vehicle’s make. For Lexus models, the protection can be extended up to 10 years under the Lexus Relax program, provided certain conditions are met. The program applies to cars no more than 10 years old from the date of first purchase and with a mileage of less than 185,000 km.
