Honda just put the spotlight on the 2026 Passport TrailSport’s serious off-road strength with a jaw-dropping stunt: suspending three unmodified Passport TrailSports in midair, stacked nose-to-tail, from a single vehicle’s front recovery points using a 140-foot crane.
The dramatic video showcases the rugged SUV’s newly engineered front-end hardware, which is purpose-built for tough terrain and heavy-duty recoveries.

The 2026 Passport TrailSport and TrailSport Elite are the first Honda light trucks to come standard with fully exposed, easy-to-access front recovery points.
Painted bright orange for visibility, these cast iron loops aren’t just cosmetic—they’re designed as a closed-loop recovery system, each rated to handle double the vehicle’s weight.

They’re powder-coated for corrosion resistance and built to shear away safely in a crash, a patented feature that supports Honda’s pursuit of top-tier safety ratings.

During the stunt, all three TrailSports—built in Alabama using global and domestic parts—had their fluids drained and transmissions locked in neutral. The top SUV in the chain was supporting over 14,000 pounds, with its front bumper hanging 100 feet in the air.
Out back, the Passport TrailSport includes a factory trailer hitch with a 7-pin connector, doubling as rear recovery points and shielding the rear fascia from trail damage.

Combined with steel skid plates, off-road-tuned suspension, upgraded AWD capabilities, and all-terrain tires, this latest Passport trim is clearly built with weekend adventures in mind—whether that means climbing a mountain or pulling someone out of a ditch.
With the new TrailSport lineup, Honda continues to lean into its adventure-ready SUV identity, delivering practical toughness without compromising safety or reliability.
