Mazda North American Operations (MNAO) has announced the pricing and new features for the 2025 Mazda CX-50, a versatile crossover SUV designed for active lifestyles. The 2025 lineup introduces the CX-50 Hybrid, which combines Mazda’s renowned design and driving dynamics with improved fuel efficiency, returning an EPA-estimated 38 mpg combined. This hybrid model extends the driving range significantly compared to the CX-50 2.5 S models.
The CX-50 Hybrid’s powertrain, based on the Toyota Hybrid System, features a 2.5L naturally aspirated four-cylinder engine, a hybrid EV battery, three electric motors, and an electronically-controlled continuously variable transmission (eCVT). This setup delivers 219 horsepower and 163 lb-ft of torque, providing a refined and responsive driving experience. The CX-50 Hybrid also offers a towing capacity of 1,500 pounds and includes features like Power and Trail drive modes to enhance versatility.

Mazda’s CX-50 2.5 S models, powered by a Skyactiv-G 2.5L naturally aspirated four-cylinder engine, produce 187 horsepower and 185 lb-ft of torque. These models have received internal updates for 2025, resulting in increased fuel efficiency—25 mpg city, 31 mpg highway, and 28 mpg combined. All CX-50 models come with i-Activ All-Wheel Drive and Mazda Intelligent Drive Select (Mi-Drive), allowing drivers to switch between Sport, Off-Road, and Towing modes for optimal performance in various conditions.
In addition to the new hybrid model, the CX-50 Turbo lineup features a Skyactiv-G 2.5L turbocharged engine, offering 256 hp and 320 lb-ft of torque on premium fuel, or 227 hp and 310 lb-ft on regular fuel. Turbo models come standard with i-Activ AWD, Mi-Drive, and a towing capacity of 3,500 pounds when equipped with Mazda towing accessories.
The 2025 CX-50 also sees enhancements to the Mazda i-ACTIVSENSE safety features and driver assistance technology. New standard features include rear seat alert, vehicle exit warning, and an improved Smart Brake Support system with nighttime pedestrian detection and head-on collision mitigation. Other safety technologies include Blind Spot Monitoring, Driver Attention Alert, Lane Departure Warning System, Lane Keep Assist, and Rear Cross Traffic Alert.
The 2025 Mazda CX-50 is available in ten packages across three powertrain choices, with starting MSRPs as follows:
- CX-50 2.5 S Select: $30,300
- CX-50 2.5 S Preferred: $31,650
- CX-50 2.5 S Premium: $34,000
- CX-50 2.5 S Premium Plus: $37,500
- CX-50 Hybrid Preferred: $33,970
- CX-50 Hybrid Premium: $37,400
- CX-50 Hybrid Premium Plus: $40,050
- CX-50 2.5 Turbo Meridian Edition: $40,800
- CX-50 2.5 Turbo Premium: $41,300
- CX-50 2.5 Turbo Premium Plus: $43,300
Premium paint options include Polymetal Gray Metallic, Wind Chill Pearl, and Zircon Sand Metallic at $450 each, and Machine Gray Metallic and Soul Red Crystal Metallic at $595 each.
