2025 Honda Pilot SUV Earns Coveted IIHS TOP SAFETY PICK+ Rating

The 2025 Honda Pilot SUV earns the IIHS TOP SAFETY PICK+ rating, excelling in crashworthiness, pedestrian front crash prevention, and headlight performance with enhanced safety features.

The 2025 Honda Pilot SUV has achieved the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety’s (IIHS) top accolade, the 2024 TOP SAFETY PICK+ (TSP+) rating. This honor is a result of the Pilot’s superior performance in Crash Worthiness evaluations, pedestrian front crash prevention, and headlight performance. Notably, enhanced rear seat belts in the 2025 Pilot have significantly improved second-row passenger protection in the updated moderate overlap front test. This achievement contributes to a total of five Honda models now earning 2024 TSP ratings or higher.

Adhering to Honda’s “Safety for Everyone” philosophy, all 2025 Pilot models come equipped with the Honda Sensing® suite of safety and driver-assistive technologies. This comprehensive package includes Collision Mitigation Braking System™ (CMBS™) with Pedestrian Detection, Forward Collision Warning, Road Departure Mitigation (RDM) with Lane Departure Warning (LDW), Lane Keeping Assist System (LKAS), and Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC). Honda Sensing® is now standard across all new Honda models, with nearly 8 million Honda vehicles featuring these safety systems on U.S. roads today.

The Pilot also benefits from Honda’s Advanced Compatibility Engineering™ (ACE™) body structure, designed to protect occupants in a variety of frontal collisions. When the Pilot was redesigned for the 2023 model year, enhancements to the ACE™ structure were made to improve crash compatibility with smaller vehicles and occupant protection in oblique frontal collisions. The 2025 model builds on this with updated load-limiting retractors for the outboard second-row seats to further mitigate potential injuries.

In addition to IIHS testing, every fully evaluated Honda model in the NHTSA’s 2024 and 2025 model year NCAP testing has received a 5-Star Overall Vehicle Score.
